About Muriel's Garden
We came to live here in 1972, the bungalow had been built on land where once stood a cottage belonging to the Claxton family. When we came to dig the front garden to lay lawn (no longer there) we came across about fifty linoleum covered pamment tiles, which must have been one of the floor coverings. When we came to prepare the back garden, my husband had to get a pickaxe to break up the very compacted soil from it being part of the yard of the cottage. We then put the garden down to lawn for the children to have a play area.
Over the years it has changed to what you see today, likewise the front garden as well.
